Week 1 - Midweek Meeting Mingle
[ It's been a few days now. Everyone is fairly certain of that, even despite the lack of day/night cycle in space. For better or for worse, the sight of the other chosen has become familiar to everybody. Yet, the group still lacks cohesion. At the very least a certain extremely pink person among you all thinks this way.
At some point today, everyone will have been tapped by Shizuka (or people who could easily be convinced to play errand boy for him) to come meet around the Terminal for some much-needed strategizing. Refreshments are not provided, it's strictly Bring Your Own Rations.
The important thing here is getting together and exchanging info, which Shizuka is going to at least try and facilitate. He steps up and adjust his glasses. His tone is somewhere between serious and haughty, which anyone who's spoken to him will recognize as his default voice. ]
Good afternoon [ he has decided it's afternoon ] and thank you for coming.
It's come to my attention that most of you don't have any prior experience with being a chosen superhero, and that - perhaps even more pressingly - our original realities vary quite drastically from each other.
Milling about like headless chickens is getting us nowhere fast, so let's get some basic introductions and strategizing over with, shall we?
((ooc: to streamline things a little, there are sub-headers for different discussion subjects. feel free to add your own if something isn't covered yet!))

INTRODUCTIONS
[ Starting off simple to get people talking!! ]
no subject
Shizuka Yoyogi; genius high school senior preparing for college entrance exams, biological weapon, and superhero. You may call me Yoyogi.
I'm from Tokyo, Japan on Earth, in the 2020s. My team recently prevented a violent alien invasion.
I'll guide you through heroics for a little while, but I expect all newbies to be quick learners and stand on their own feet soon enough.
[ He's not mentioning any shard powers - has he not figured them out yet? Mysterious! ]

...Very well; you may call me Dorothy. I am a soldier aligned with a small technological city known as Eden, in the world that I come from; an invisible paradise from the Raptures that render most of the world uninhabitable.
I've been fighting for many years now to assist in keeping Eden safe from intruders, as well as keeping any outsiders who find themselves without a place to go within our walls and well provided. As it stands right now, that protection extends to all of you here, and I will see our mission through no matter what shape it takes.
It's a pleasure. If anyone needs training or the like, I suppose I can provide, but I do expect you to keep up if you seek me out.

I'm Percy. I came from Neo Earth, and I was a college student, living a normal civilian lifestyle! [ ... ] Uh... I have only some experience with combat, but no experience with the stuff I've got now. Fighting up close and personal isn't my thing, but speaking of which:
[ He flicks his wrist, which has a diamond embedded in it. Out comes...a bright blue axe. Some kind of axe, anyway. It's the shape of one without the detail; it's made of energy, so. He almost drops it, but he manages to catch it with both of his hands. Oops! Embarrassing! ]
Oh. It's an axe this time! Yeah, I can do stuff like this, I guess.

[Apparently that's all Ed can think to say about himself, yeah]
Here Ed is can use skin painting to give better defense, to help heal. Is support instead of fighting.

Ah, even though these are proper introductions, I shall endeavor to keep it appropriately concise. I am from the planet Earth, and I have done an expert job in combating world-ending threats before...this will be no different. Whether it is from an alien force of a highly technologically advanced civilization or something far more abstract, it makes little difference to me.
It is also a pleasure meeting you all. I shall hope that we can all work together with ease.
[ They say this with a polite tone, smile on their face as they place a hand over their chest, inclining their head respectfully. ]

My name is Takeuchi Rio! I'm from Tokyo, Japan, on Earth from the year 2001, so it looks like some people are ahead of me... I work in the safe removal of landmines in countries of conflict, so I know a thing or two about demolitions and how bombs are made, but I'd be happy to learn more from anyone willing to teach me!
My shard ability allows me to create lasers, which I've mostly been using to mark pathways that have already been explored. If you find a useful room, feel free to let me know so I can mark it for everyone.
I look forward to working with everyone!
[And she'll end her introduction with a polite bow!]

what he has to say will be kept brief and to the point but will keep his tone casual and posture easy. he will also make sure to be standing a bit further back than others as he smokes. (he's got some manners on him.) sure wolfwood might not be saying much but he'll be extremely interested in what everyone else has to say. ]
Nicholas D. Wolfwood; occupation wanderin' priest, and I'd say that I'm pretty good shot.

Viktor. I came here from the city of Piltover, in the world of Runeterra. I am an engineer with skills in designing and building machinery, along with a moderate understanding of my world's magic. I can claim nothing in the realm of heroics, but my world recently overcame a terrible threat with the aid of a close friend of mine.
[He paused as though that was everything, then clearly remembered something else.]
...To prevent any particularly awkward conversations, I am human enough despite appearances. You do not need to take me into account for matters of supplies, however.

My ability lets me make small icicles or freeze things in place... But truth be told, I would prefer to be a support role.
( honestly, her big goal in manifesting the icicles is eventually manifesting ice weapons.
and then handing them to better users. )
What I don't know, I promise I can learn quickly. Otherwise, I'm here to help.

Anyway, she's pretty quiet in general, the epitome of girl invited to the party who maybe only 30% wanted to come, an absolute 🧍♀️ in every way. Eventually, after a good amount of people have gone, she pipes up: ]
Um, I'm Ashley Brown, from Earth... I'm really just a college student. That's all.
I'm not- what you would call a fighter? But I don't really plan on...staying here, for too long, so you won't have to worry about that, the- the person, at the terminal said anyone who wanted to could go...home, when they make contact.
[ That sounds...remarkably hollow. Hm. Anyway- ] But, uh, while I'm here, the shard gives me, um, visions? I can't exactly control it, but, I can...try and warn for anything I might see.

Uhh, right. I'm Bailey Morello, I'm from Earth? America, specifically.
[A beat.]
Truthfully, I'm not sure my life back home will be any use here. I currently work—worked?—for my city's Supernatural Support Agency as a paid intern while I work towards becoming a licensed clinical social worker.
[They raise their hand.]
It seems like the power I have here is... the ability to reanimate the little spiders after, uh. They die? So there's that.
[ANYWAYS!!!]
It's nice meeting everyone?

Though his voice rings low and steady to be easily heard, his hands stay occupied with the leg of a spider and a fresh repair kit, delivered with the daily supplies.]
Toa Vakama, of the former city of Metru Nui. I'm a maskmaker and crafter by trade.
I'm currently the leader of a group of Toa heroes created during a time of great crisis for our people. At the moment, we've had to evacuate our entire population from a similar unstoppable threat.
[So, y'know, he is feeling some sorts of ways about this situation, but moving on.]
Having to adapt to powers you aren't entirely used to is going be a challenge for all of us. But the only way to grow used to it is to practice.

If you were wondering, I'm Halovian, rather than human. I come from a planet known as Penacony in the Asdana star system. I was formerly of the Family, that governs the planet, although I suppose you could say I've recently... retired from my role.
[ giving off very strong vibes of Don't Ask, tbh, he is also being Vague As Fuck. ]
While I admit I've seen my fair share of planetary disasters, my previous role was more an administrator and counselor than someone on the front lines. My job involved listening to the pleas of those who were suffering and helping to alleviate that suffering.
Pleased to make your acquaintance, regardless. I'll do what I can to help, even if it's just to listen.

My name is Yeager; I likewise hail from Terca Lumireis, and specifically the Guilds. I run my own - Leviathan's Claw.
[Good luck parsing the name of that guild; between his thick German accent and his terrible pronunciation of it, it's a mangled mess.]
I'm familiar with combat as well, of course. Though I do miss my usual weapon... fighting without it is just so dull.
[SIGH,]

Oscar... swordsman in the Aquilegian military and adjutant to Commander Claude. My world is called Chagran.
[He reaches up to rub the back of his head with one hand.]
I'm not that great at stuff that requires usin' your head, but if anyone wants to learn how to fight, Big Bro can can give you a few lessons. [Yes, he does in fact refer to himself as 'Big Bro.'] Just be warned that I won't go easy on you because enemies won't either.
And if you need anything done that requires strength, guess I'm your man for that too. [This part is kind of self-explanatory because a lot of you all look like twigs--]

I am Sir Jasper of Heliodor, one of the most eminent kingdoms of Erdrea. I am a general and tactician, so I have some fair amount of combat experience. Along with some duties that will not be relevant unless we are required to engage in naval combat, I was skilled in both magical and physical combat back home. I no longer have access to the former, but I suppose I can offer some advice on both.
[even if he'd rather not...]
I suppose it is obvious to many of you, but outside of some specific varieties of monster, we do not have the same level of technology in my home world that many of you seem used to. I assure you that I am a quick learner, so this should not prove an issue.

You can just call me Skylark. I'm from Wu-Jian, which...is in the world called Creation. [ And when he lays it out like that it kind of just makes him feel more out of his depth, since he recognises almost squat from the others' introductions. ]
I'm just a doctor's apprentice and an errand boy back home, so I'm not great at fighting. [ A beat ] Though, uh, you could say I have experience with stressful situations and being under duress.
These aren't exactly amazing circumstances, but nonetheless, nice to meet you.

Basilio Magnus. Where I come from doesn't seem to matter too much since it isn't this 'Earth' that a bunch of you are from, [Yeah, about that, Bas--] but it's a place called Euchronia, anyway. Came here in the middle of tryin' to save my own world, so I guess ya could say I have some experience. Was in the army before that, too, so I can hold me own in a fight, and if you can't, then stick with me, since these new powers of ours mean the bad guys will wanna hit me more than you.

"LEADERSHIP ELECTIONS"
As your prodigious senior in all matters related to becoming a hero of justice, I've taken it upon myself to organize this meeting... but I won't be doing it again.
A proper hero team needs a leader - or maybe several subdivision leaders, with numbers as strong as ours. The next strategy meeting should accordingly fall to that person.
So, let's hear some nominations.
((ooc: this is not meant to lead to any binding agreements or large scale power dynamics, it's just informal nonsense...))

SHARD COLORS
well anyway
Now seems like a great time to actually stand up before he loses the will to actually ask what he wants.]
While we are all together, if I could... ask something here, for curiosity's sake.
From many of the introductions I've heard, the shard powers we've been given by our mysterious hosts have been incredibly ranged. Despite that, I can't have been the only one to notice that the shards themselves are not entirely unique. [Nodding specifically to Bas for mentioning seven colors earlier, though it seems to have been lost within the mess of conversations.]
I'd like to see if we have a pattern. If not in powers, then perhaps in something else.
[And, you know, it gets them into smaller groups for a little bit, so maybe Yoyogi will calm down a little about the organization.]

[Ed says, gesturing at Raven. There aren't many points in common for them, really -- and he hasn't heard about the other three topaz holders yet. Once he does, he'll be even more puzzled as to what's the common point here]
