Party Rock Anthem only it's played on kazoos
[Oscar is a practiced master at Coping (tm) in the face of things he would prefer not to address in any sort of healthy or rational manner. After the events of yesterday, he's somehow getting the feeling that he isn't the only one, which means that in his mind there is only one thing to do: this translates to yet another Walmart booze heist (even larger than the original), a few side trips to amass snacks because RIP his kitchen, and some haphazardly erected decorations in one of the spare rooms to try to at least give off something of a celebratory atmosphere... but let's be real here, this is just Misery x CPR x Reese's Puffs + alcohol.
Sunday morning will find handwritten notes tucked under everyone's doors inviting them to a party that evening, snacks and drinks (that particular word underlined a couple of times, just in case people didn't pick up on the meaning of "party") provided gratis.
There's alcohol, there's soda for the minors, there's plenty of junk food to eat, and there are a whole bunch of other people who are also Going Through It. What better recipe for a party could you ask for?
... don't answer that.]

You truly do flatter me, dear.
[...But she should have some kind of response in return, shouldn't she? Dorothy pauses for a moment herself, but...
Dorothy is actually struggling to come up with some kind of response that isn't at least slightly genuine, give. Give her a moment, she's trying to keep herself composed.]
...And I suppose in the spirit of the game, I ought to rate you in kind--I think anyone with eyes can see you're attractive, Yeager.
[nailed it???]

Quite the flatterer, aren't you? Well, I'm certainly not complaining!
[yesssss his ego!!!!]

...
He liked that!!! Dorothy's eyes briefly brighten, though she looks away shortly after and drains the rest of her glass before pouring another one--]
I only speak the truth, you know. As we were asked to do. I had better not hear any complaining.

[and it's coming from her so like??? he's doubly pleased??? hell yeah.]

[he's going to be Insufferable.]

Goodness, you should be careful, darling. Your head might burst from how inflated it's getting.
[Hmph!!!]

The same could be said for you, you know~
[let us have this!!! we deserve to be insufferable!!!]

[...But you know what, we do deserve this, so--]
But very well, very well. I suppose I cannot judge you too harshly, not after relishing in all of this praise myself.
no subject
There you go, see? It's perfectly fine to bask in well-deserved praise every so often~!
no subject
Hmph. Well. I suppose I cannot say that I mind it, and it is deserved. So let us enjoy it for all it's worth, then.
[Just gonna drain her glass of wine here and pour another--]
