Sunday morning, everyone will find a note under their door.

You are cordially invited to a movie marathon in the entertainment room! Come and go as you please!
After everything we've been through the last week, it would be nice to have a group activity where we can all relax, especially for Tails, Sonic, and Knuckles.
Our list of movies includes:
Shrek
Shrek 2
Jupiter Ascending
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Edition)
...and movies of your choice!

Bring snacks, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude! ☺

Yes, this is handwritten and copied for each and every person here. Or, at least each and every room.

The entertainment room itself has not been decorated or anything—this was not planned with that much foresight—but the chairs and couches have all been arranged so they're close together for maximum occupancy and maximum movie theater imitation. Some people will probably have to cuddle up on the floor against couches or find some beanbags or something, but it'll be cozy!

An amount of popcorn, soda, and candy have been provided, but you will probably need to restock at some point, especially if you're staying for the whole marathon!

[ Ashley has the strong memory of Turo getting ripped open by a purple metal lizard...but at the same time based on like...some context clues from yesterday's fight have her thinking...he may not be entirely human? This is not the big surprise it was three weeks ago.

The point is, Ashley does do a small startle when she sees him, but he's probably observed she's just...a jumpy person by nature, when she gets worked up? It might be that! Still, she approaches him between movies. ]

Oh- you got the invitation, I'm glad. I wasn't sure where you were rooming.

[Turo blinks at her in surprise. If he saw her jump, he doesn't seem to know what it might have been about.]

Me? I've been staying with Gyles - but I thought the invitation was for him?

[His name wasn't on it! Turo is never going to assume things are for him!]

[ ...He seems so different from that nightmare... Ashley decides to put it out of her mind, as best she can. ]

It was for both of you. Oh man, did others think that...? Mmm, if I do something like this again, I should probably address all of them properly.

I don't know if they did...

[Maybe some of the other new arrivals? But then, maybe not. Turo's not...well.]

I've never...spent time around this many people before. I don't know how it typically goes.

[ Oh... Well... ]

Honestly? Big gatherings aren't, um, really my thing either. I feel awkward enough with people I know.

Really? You seem to be doing perfectly well to me.

[Isn't this her party?]

That's because we're watching a lot of movies. Easier to keep on task than a traditional party, and I know exactly what to do.

Oh. So all we have to do is watch movies.

[That...actually does make it easier? He's following the rules practically just by being here.]

Yep! There's breaks between, and you can talk about them, if you want...but, mostly it's just a movie party.

That seems simple enough.

I'm not familiar with any of these movies. But my world is so different - I expect our media must be very different as well. [like, none of these have Pokemon in them? weird]

Oh... Oh, I'd imagine so. You're in good company, at least. I know a few people who don't know any of these- or, who don't know movies at all.

Oh - I suppose that would be true, wouldn't it?

[He knows enough to know that not everyone here came from worlds with the same technology levels. That's not really surprising if you think about it; the surprising part is probably how much they do have in common.]

How strange. Though, it's probably the least strange thing that has happened.

Isn't it? Strange is almost becoming the new normal. [ Mmm. She doesn't really like that, so- ] Anyway, it just means a lot of people have some common ground. I don't think anyone here knows all of them, not even me.

I have never really watched a movie myself in any case. I just have memories of the ones that my creator had seen. It wasn't a particular pastime of his, either.

[When was the last time he had the free time to watch movies? Before Arven was born?]

Oh. Oh, wow... Do...you have all of his memories?

Up to the point that he uploaded them, yes. It was partway through the process of my creation.

[Some of that, he suspects, the man had wanted to keep to himself.]

Was that ever weird? To...remember things, things you didn't actually do?

...it is, a bit. [His brow furrows as he considers it. No one has ever asked about it quite like that.] I feel his emotions, what he was feeling in those moments, but it's...distant. Not the same as accessing my own memories. And maybe I didn't always understand them as well as I thought...?

[At least, when he gave the best conclusion he could draw - that the Professor truly did love Arven - it was rejected. Was he wrong, or was he just wrong to say it then?]

...Well...emotions can be complicated. If you didn't know what he was thinking... I think that'd be hard for anyone. Just...guessing.

...maybe. I'm worse at understanding them than humans, I believe. But either way, he is gone now.

[It doesn't exactly matter what he thought now, does it?]
