Party Rock Anthem only it's played on kazoos
[Oscar is a practiced master at Coping (tm) in the face of things he would prefer not to address in any sort of healthy or rational manner. After the events of yesterday, he's somehow getting the feeling that he isn't the only one, which means that in his mind there is only one thing to do: this translates to yet another Walmart booze heist (even larger than the original), a few side trips to amass snacks because RIP his kitchen, and some haphazardly erected decorations in one of the spare rooms to try to at least give off something of a celebratory atmosphere... but let's be real here, this is just Misery x CPR x Reese's Puffs + alcohol.
Sunday morning will find handwritten notes tucked under everyone's doors inviting them to a party that evening, snacks and drinks (that particular word underlined a couple of times, just in case people didn't pick up on the meaning of "party") provided gratis.
There's alcohol, there's soda for the minors, there's plenty of junk food to eat, and there are a whole bunch of other people who are also Going Through It. What better recipe for a party could you ask for?
... don't answer that.]

Of course I do.
I said nothing about having no caution, did I? Well~?
And must you always be so serious all the time?

I just think you are going to float yourself face first into too many troubles one of these days with your intelligent little head so full of hot air.

Our hard-working friend Oscar has done all he has could so that we may unwind in the face of so many indignities.
[ Void Archives shakes their head with an amused little smile, though...they have a bet to win, so they curate their words carefully. Or...they try, but they seem to be a bit excited due to the events as they talk animatedly. ]
Please, I understand you must be quite oh-so-concerned about myself, but...
I know how to use my intelligence to the best of my ability, alongside that wonderful prized confidence. Really, if you think about it, I have emerged victorious through a variety of hardships...what is the worst that can be done and have it stick? I am bound to shake it off inevitably.
You would do well to perhaps take heart to gain such a level of belief in yourself as well. It does incredible wonders!

He's rolling his eyes again as they continue - their points aren't entirely wrong, but as always he could care less about their choice of phrasing - but something gives him pause, and combined with their last recommendation just makes him snort, dismissive.]
Pfft. The last time I did that to the degree you have, with nearly the same words?
["We faced the Makuta and won. I doubt a few crusty relics will give us any trouble. Look, all this way, and not a single Visorak to be found."
He sighs. Might as well top off his glass if he's gonna have to talk about this shit again, even vaguely... though he's had enough in his system that "vaguely" is losing its place here.]
You saw what happened. Poison, thorns, beasts. Worse afterwards.
I'd rather not repeat mistakes of inflated ego, if it's all the same.

[ As for the other matter?
They do remember what they saw, yeah...which was a disaster on colossal levels, putting it quite lightly.
It really isn't that important to necessarily insist - though really in comparison they've barely drank this entire night. They are the type to slowly sip at their drink at small bits of a time, though they can definitely have a bit before it affects them so. ]
Considering what I have seen thus far, it does certainly seem that way in your case.
All the pity, though. And all the more reason to perhaps focus on other matters instead. Like, for example, confidence or not...I do doubt we will be anything but a victor in the conclusion of our struggle.

[Married to work and all that.
Anyway, yes, thank you Void Archive let's not encourage Vakama to act to your level of behavior because he doesn't want another spider incident.]
We'll find a way. To put too much focus on failure is to guarantee its footing.

[ They say this with an amused glance on over back at him before sipping their drink ever so leisurely once more. ]
See? That's a healthy amount of confidence, at least.
So, why not in advance of the battles of ahead...we toast to success?
To our victory!
[ They grin and then suddenly hold out their drink to Vakama's. ]

[que
He'll hold out his glass in a mirroring though. que??????????????]

[ Chink. Then they tip the glass to take a bigger sip this time. ]
There are various reasons why someone would say such things. In some cases, to honor people, their grand acts which they have already committed, or otherwise champion their causes - to more or less place better emphasis behind the potential success in the endeavor. Such as, of course, a certain hard-earned victory that lies within reach.

Must one always do it with a drink like this?
no subject
Well, it can always be done with other drinks - but, preferably alcohol because there is hardly much point in doing so with any other kind. It doesn't feel as monumental or as fun with something like water or plain juice.
[ So, yes, as far as they're concerned...but, at the same time, it certainly doesn't have to be that way. ]
