THE (SHARD)BEACH EPISODE 🌊🛹
After a grueling two weeks filled to the brim with pain and suffering, a break is more than deserved. So while Gyles is far from a planner of activities, he'll make sure everyone (even the NPCs. stares directly at Redd.) knows about a world he accidentally stumbled upon. As far as he knows, it doesn't have a name, but do the details really matter???? Absolutely not.
What matters is that this is a beautiful beach by the ocean. The sun's shining, the water's warm enough to swim in, and there's plenty of critters and shells to find among the tide pools and beneath the waves. If you're brave enough, you could even take a boat out on the water! ... but maybe don't do that alone?
Don't have a swimsuit? No problem! There's a beach shack with all the swimwear and beach-goer attire you could possibly want, along with things like sunscreen, fishing gear, inflatable beach toys, and snorkels. Basically if you want it, it's there, I'm sure as hell not gonna stop you. The shack also sells whatever cold treats and snacks your heart desires.
There's also a fire pit, perfect for late night s'mores and stories around a bonfire, and a charcoal barbeque for the cooks among the group. The nearby convenience store doesn't have as wide a selection as W*lmart, but there's a decent selection of meats, veggies, and drinks to choose from.
If you're not one for the sand, then a very short walk away from the shore is surely the biggest skate park anyone's ever seen. If you didn't bring your skateboard or hoverboard with you, that's a-okay because there are plenty that're free to borrow. There's also some rollerskates, if that's more your style.

As for the question, Void Archives does end up taking pause because they're not expecting that, so, hm. This is his revenge, isn't it? The blond smiles wryly. Well, they supposed if Wolfwood asked, so shall he receive. ]
I was willing to see a plan of mine to the end and endure the risk it imposed to my life. I already knew that I would die were I to go through with it. I was simply willing to sacrifice myself to achieve my goal.
[ They didn't want to die, of course. They simply thought the risk must be taken. It must be done. That is all there is to it. ]

[ trust wolfwood to be one of the people (if not the only person???) to be able to put them through their paces. should he feel a bit of pride in that? maybe, but he'll pat himself on the back about that later because that answer sounds... a little illogical for a being who didn't have to worry about the same things as someone like him. ]
With all of yer talk and thoughts around self-sacrifice, I wouldn't have thought that'd be an extreme ya'd take.
[ they confessed to doing much worse (just as wolfwood had done himself), but to play things that risky? for a human with their limited time and capabilities—a gamble like that could be expected from someone particularly passionate. it seemed to be a lot for them to be willing to risk. ]
Looks like whatever plan it was, didn't end up costing yer life.

It may surprise you, but not only do I know and understand the enormity of self-sacrifice...I can see reason as to why others would engage in it, even if it may be a fool's errand or based upon emotions that lack profound logic. [ Is there a brief nose wrinkle as they say the next? No, perish the thought. ] Or are simply for deep, gentle consideration for the lives of many over their own. Naturally, I'd have different reasons for why I would be willing to participate in it, though I will say that it is not a consideration I make lightly. Nor is it something I would rush towards even if it should be on the table once again.
[ Also, at that time, they didn't have anyone to rely on but themselves. Though they had agreed to the plan, and they weren't being entirely honest when working with Lucheni, it is a fact that the vanguard was the one pulling the strings on how it would be ultimately all executed - for the parts that they would be assisting, anyway. They would be the sacrificial piece at the end. ]
Regardless, you would be correct that I did survive. But, it wasn't because I was rescued or saved even by ingenuity. Rather, it is simply because I am built different, I am difficult to kill, and the Sky People underestimated what would essentially put an end to the Void Archives. Though, they did really give a strong effort, and I wouldn't be called being slowly torn apart as a painless experience.

one emotion does, ultimately, win out as wolfwood snorts at their admission of being difficult to kill. less because of how their similarities keep stacking but more of the way they went about saying it. because of course. why would wolfwood imagine anything different. ]
