Between the mysteries of last weekend, the increasing number of visions and unexplained phenomena, and the attack on Vakama yesterday, everyone is likely on edge. When Tails calls you into his lab around noon, you all are likely already aware of how this is going to go.
Once again, a surge of Chaos Energy in the city is what draws you in, though this time it is a much larger burst than before. Sonic and Knuckles are here with you as usual, with Tails remaining behind to look after Vakama and the base. Unlike before, you aren't met with robots or destruction. In fact, this city block looks remarkably peaceful, aside from where Eggman's chroma has overtaken most of the buildings.
"So good of you all to finally arrive."
The voice comes from up above. You recognize it as the one you heard last week, through that gemstone the Tails Doll had. Perched on one of the buildings is a... fox? No, he's larger than Tails, and wearing a large silver mask that obscures most of his features. In one hand he holds Vakama's missing mask; his other is extended with six gemstones floating around it, a soft teal glow from beneath his black glove marking the seventh. There's a different gemstone on the center of his chest as well, though it doesn't look like the fake Chaos Emeralds you've seen before.
"You all have the pleasure of fighting me, Infinite. I am the Doctor's trusted ally... and I have been watching you all. Your struggles with my nightmares and illusions were so... delicious. You have my thanks for the show."
He kicks off the building, floating towards you all and the ground, though stopping high enough up, still out of reach. And for those of you getting any bright ideas, a deep red begins to fill your vision, tinting the corners of it as the very world itself begins to warp around you - this isn't exactly Chicago anymore, you see. The buildings still exist, wrapped in white chroma, though they bend and twist in ways they shouldn't, making it hard to tell what's real and what isn't.
"I'll snuff out your lives here and now for the Doctor's ambitions! Let's see what you're made of!"
[Metal Sonic reappears in a flash, landing hard enough to break pavement before Zavok. He activates a dark shield that catches all attacks aimed at the big guy and safely dispels them. This is immediately followed by a laser shot at Gyles (x2 attacks).
Shadow takes quite a bit of damage and it's harder for him to regain his form after glitching out again. You're obviously managing something even though the Phantom Copy does manage to put himself together again and acts like nothing happened. Here's another Chaos Control - watch out Ashley and Basilio!
Thankfully, Zavok does not throw rocks this turn. That's because he's more focused on punching the living daylights out of Oscar and Ashley. Those hits will hurt if they aren't dodged or no one stops them!
And to make matters worse, Chaos has clearly decided to stop playing around - he slams a fist into the ground which practically explodes in water damage: Wolfwood, Sunday, Raven, Viktor and More you'd better hope you can dodge!
Though he's been sitting idle this whole time (when he's not yelling at you), Infinite is still here. Unfortunately, that means Infinite can also attack you. Rio, Void Archives, and Wednesday will be pulled into nightmares. Roll an 11 or higher to escape, otherwise someone else will have to get an 11 or higher to break you free! Breaking free (or not) is your action for this round.

[ He's coming, he's on the way! He immediately forgets about any plans he has and he makes a beeline towards his girlfriend. He lifts his shield and bashes Zavok from behind, if only to get him off of Ashley (and subsequently Oscar). ]
[Lucifer sends Viktor a look so they can increase their powers together. Oscar and Ashley get the souped up shield preemptively because gotta protect that tank and psychic!
And then he uses his metal bat to attack Shadow because those glitches seem bad, let's make them worse for the creepy projection.]
[With Turo's help, Dorothy is at least able to stand again, and as much as she wants to get into the fray on the offensive...what they need this time around is defense. Protection.
They need to protect the people around them, and while Dorothy stumbles with her injuries, she'll go over to Mafuyu, holding out an unsteady hand.]

I think I need your help here, because I think there's something we can do.
[Dorothy holds out her left hand, the one with the amethyst embedded in it, and her gaze is determined as water rises up around her.]

mafuyu reaches back with a small but determined nod. as they touch, a delicate bubble will form over ashley and oscar each- but upon impact the bubbles harden into ice. though they last for one round, being hit also grants the protected a heal-over-time effect. )

He then uses something he hasn't used in a while: his shard power. He disappears from sight, then reappears behind Shadow. It's still a taxing process, but this time he's able to recover quickly and stab at Shadow's neck from behind.]
why bother healing anyone if it'll just result in him being flattened to the ground? it's fine. let's just hope wolfwood doesn't get any additionally bad rolls because good lord he's going to take some water explosion to the face. at least he doesn't take the full brunt of it and will skirt some of the damage, but more injuries to an already injured person sure sucks regardless. ]
[ Ah, yes, nightmares - the nemesis of Void Archives at this point in these blasted battles, and outside of them. Though they had not empathetically stated that they too felt irritability for the source of them in this particular fight, there is no doubt that they do.
Whatever the case, they witness nightmare scenario after nightmare scenario - gruesome images of those they begrudgingly formed some kind of bond with, but also of their own. Strings hanging down from a boundless sky, and they are the ones made to move, without a will of their own. Lucheni reaching out from the abyss and dragging them down into the gate, tearing them apart once again.
They replay incessantly and mercilessly. But, despite how maddening they are - or because they are in the first place, they struggle.
Even if they feel it start to become futile, they fight. They tear off the strings, crawl out of the mechanism weaved by that thing, and they fightuntil there's nothing left to fight (18) ]
There are only so many times an obsolete method will work on the Void Archives.

[ A badass boast, but they are exhausted and can do nothing this round. Fortunately for their enemy. ]
But with how Concerned he and Oscar have been about each other, and with how effective they are together, he'll take the turn of freedom to just loop the guy in and take that pain split with their joint power. Sorry not sorry.
And, well, since he's here, he'll also swing on Zavok.
[Extremely impolite of both Shadow and Zavok to target Ashley, a nice girl who's done nothing wrong??? How dare you both. Shadow looks like he's being handled just fine by Lucifer and Raven, so Fukuda is going to approach Zavok because who even are you. And even though he'd promised before not to try holes on living things, these are barely real so surely it's fine?

[ at least it's not a nat1, which means that sunday gets some water damage (6) and aside from it stinging a little, it just has the effect of making his wing feathers completely drenched, so he's kind of annoyed at all these developments.
