Sometime in the morning on Sunday, there are little notes that have been slipped under everyone's doors. Written in markers reads the following:

Let's celebrate getting Knuckles back at Olive Garden tonight at 6pm!!!!
Also I'm bored

…Yeah………but hey, at least these notes will be customized! Each note has two characters, but, uh, these might not be accurate to who's actually in the room. He doesn't know who everyone's roommates are, so he's just hoping for the best I guess. (Someone's note includes the new guy, More. Shizuka is also on one of these as a pink dolphin with glasses.)

Anyway, the Olive Garden seems to have some balloons floating around. With the current state of the residents, nobody seems to care! There are also chefs in the kitchen who will make whatever you ask, but pushing them around enough will get them to leave the kitchen to anyone who wants to make something. (Thank you Redd.) Drinks are available for everyone, alcohol and regular soft drinks alike, and really? The world is your oyster. … Olive?  You get the drill.

Oh, then...who actually lives in Eden? Is it just...you, and the other Nikke?

There are at least several of us who live there; some humans who have been rejected by the Ark with nowhere left to turn, and Nikke who have been unceremoniously discarded by the Ark tend to congregate to Eden if they can find us.

Ah, I must be bringing the mood down of this place by talking in such a manner...do allow me to apologize. The Ark unfortunately is quite set in their ways.

[Let her grab some of her own pasta just to kind of eat and fill the air a bit. What's a good distraction...]

Are you quite enjoying the festivities here, at least? You seemed rather deep in thought when I found you.

[ Part of Ashley wants to keep asking- to pry, really, her curiosity piqued and her appetite whetted.

The rest of her knows Dorothy's right. This isn't the place for such a thing, especially since she's trying to apologize for...well, for the rest of it. Ashley glances back down at her notebook, pulling it a little closer to her. ]

No, it's- I'm just...decompressing, sort of. [ She fiddles with her pencil...and then properly sets it down, pulling the cocktail to her instead. ] I think best when I'm writing, so...I've been keeping notes since I found this.

[ Dorothy will definitely recognize the kind of notebook; it's one of those that was laying around in the ruined space station. ]

[...Ah. Dorothy perks a bit at that, though she doesn't make to look over and see what Ashley is writing in the slightest. But that's...]

Ah. I take it you're not used to big events like these, then?

[No smugness or anything; just a genuine curiosity.]

I suppose I can understand that. Is it like something of a diary for you, I assume, or...?

[ A small shake of the head. She...doesn't feel like talking to Dorothy about this, necessarily, so she tries to just settle it with: ] I only really went to parties my friends threw. It was a much smaller circle.

[ And to hopefully leave no room for questioning, she continues, ]

So I guess yeah, you could call it a diary. But it's also just to help me remember things. About people, about where we are... There's a theory of learning where you can recall better if you've written the information down. When you're trying later to remember, you'll have the sensation of the pencil and paper to draw on. Makes it easier, when you've got thirty some other people you're working with.
