With one (1) echidna retrieved, you've accomplished your goal, and with the last of the robots defeated (for now) for team A, ring portals open up for all three groups. Watch your step, move quickly, and you'll find yourself back in the base.

Tails looks absolutely relieved to see all of you (mostly) in one piece and he wastes no time at all in hugging Knuckles, forgoing the fist bump entirely. Knuckles pats him on the head and they immediately launch into discussions of what happened. You'll have to save discussions with them for the weekly post because your mod is tired!!

The rest of the day is yours to do with as you see fit. After all, you succeeded in your mission! That has to count for something, right?

You found machines?

Old prototypes, by the look of it. Out of date, but more than good enough for an initial impression.

What about you? Did everything go well?

Yes! There were only two drones, and we took them out before they could alert anyone. Ashley did well, guiding me so I knew when to shoot.

We found a room with some blueprints and some failed chaos emerald copies.

Excellent work, Rio. Tails will probably want to see the emerald copies, I would assume--what were the blueprints for?

The blueprints were for the same experiments; making more replicas. It was in a chest full of failed copies, so I picked one off the top to give to Tails in case it helps. Hopefully being towards the top of the pile means it's one of the latest failures.

[She takes said replica out of her pocket by way of example.]

It would be nice if we could figure out how far along his replicas are, development-wise. The room seemed to be getting regular use, so I wouldn't think all the contents were completely out of date...

Interesting--the room we found seemed practically abandoned. A storage closet at best, a makeshift scrapyard at worst.

A chest full of them...worrying. That many failed prototypes surely marks some level of progress, even if not enough for a working result yet.

I'm hoping that taking the blueprints will slow them down, at least. It would have been nice to take the whole chest, but I don't think our team would have been able to transport the whole thing.
