Eggman's robot stands unmoving just outside of the city limits. It has caused a lot of destruction in its wake, and the area where it has come to rest has been warped by Eggman's trademark chroma. Worse still, the various robots composing Eggman's army are concentrated here, meaning that trying to find a way in is going to be exceptionally difficult.
Your colorful allies tell you as much, but Sonic doesn't seem worried in the slightest.
"The three of us will keep 'em distracted. Egghead wants a piece of me, so the three of us will fight the robots."
"We'll send you guys in with a ring to hopefully catch him off-guard. If what we've theorized is correct, you should be able to literally knock the Master Emerald out of him, and once you have that, he shouldn't be much of a threat."
"Best of luck, warriors."
The plan is straightforward and simple enough, and your friends take off once everyone's ready to go. They've left you with two rings - one to get in, and one to get out. When you're all prepared, step inside.
Welcome to Eggman's control room. Bathed in black and green light, the inside of the robot's head is composed of three sections: a smooth circular outer wall that is sloped and would be difficult (but not impossible) to stand on, a circular platform in the center (far larger than the picture for the purposes of this fight), and an alcove built into the wall that houses a man and several high-tech devices. The man does not look up from the screens he's watching as you enter.
Eggman, on the other hand, is already aware of your presence.
"Here come the would-be heroes. Did you really think marching in here was a bright idea? In case you've forgotten, I hold all the power here."
Green lightning-like energy sparks around him and to him as he speaks, and Eggman kicks off the platform to move to float in the air - high enough up that it would be a pain to try to reach him without hoverboards. Of course, you do still have those...
"You all aren't who I'm after. Stone, take care of them."
He flicks a finger in the direction of the other human present in the control room who jolts a bit in response before furiously tapping away at the keyboard on the control panel in front of him. Eggman simply turns his attention away from you all, to focus back on Sonic and friends who are currently in the process of wrecking his robots. Occasionally he does something and the entire robot shifts - moving to punch or aim attacks at Sonic and friends with said robot which will cause the whole of the robot to move - mind your footing!
[For all intents and purposes, Stone looks like a perfectly ordinary human. Though the alcove set into the walls of the robot is a bit further out, you all could reach it on hoverboard. Or you could just lob attacks his way, but either attempt will result in running into a barrier of that green, lightning-like energy. Eggman doesn't even look over whenever it happens, but it seems to be his doing given that he flicks a finger whenever he catches you moving toward Stone - and despite not watching you all, he seems very aware of your movements.
Stone summons three E-1000s and three Shadow Androids. All six waste no time in springing into action.
Shadow Androids A, B, and C immediately move to use Chaos Control on Gyles, Basilio, and More. This will freeze them in place, but can be broken by hitting all three Shadow Androids to break their concentration. If all three are not hit, their target(s) will remain frozen in place.
The E-1000s launch laser blasts that catch Ashley (x2), Yugi, Void Archives (x2), and Percy. These will absolutely hurt if they connect and may leave minor burns.
And to make matters worse, Stone sets off a laser grid that will catch everyone, dealing damage to anyone who doesn't dodge. Notably, all of the robots are immune to this damage due to Eggman's Chaos Energy simply shielding them from it. Very unfair.
Your enemies are: E-1000 x3, Shadow Android x3, and Stone.]
[ We sure are being launched straight into this, aren't we. Percy sees the laser blast but is too late (9) and can't quite get out of the way in time. He yells when the laser connects because boy, that really does hurt, and so does the laser grid (9). Starting off real strong here!!!
The Master Emerald is here, though, and he knows he needs to do whatever it takes to get that back, so he's not quite down for the count yet, but whoof! Everything sure fucking hurts!!
After taking a moment to recover, he gets back up and summons a scythe. He lifts it up and takes a swing at the E-1000 that attacked him. ]
[ Alright. To start with, More has a terrible throatache because talking for three days straight was a horrible idea. This is already beginning him on the wrong foot, which makes it feel very appropriate that he is instantly a) frozen and b) hit by lasers.
He makes a strangled anguished noise where he is held in place.
Did you think he'd finally become useful? You thought wrong. ]
[Yugi manages to dodge both lasers (13, 19) by slipping into shadow. The quick slip gives him plenty of time to smack a Shadow Android with an equally shadow tendril, too.)]
[ Honestly, incredibly rude that he's getting immediately Chaos Controlled for the second time. (but incredibly funny for nilla) He's got no choice here but to take that laser. Ow. ]
[Turo is here too late to really shield him from anything, but at least he's dodged the lasers himself in his haste to get over here? He summons a handful of sharp crystals to try and Accelerock one of the Shadow androids.]
[ No vision needed this time, Ashley sees the E-1000 blasts coming and yelps, dodging with her trademarked panicked flails (16, 20). Nice!
That does just barely put her in the way of the laser grid, however, prompting another yelp as the laser burns her arm (10).
But, that's not going to stop her. Channeling a vision feels easy now, as easy as just thinking about it, so that's what she's going to do. And now, with the shard upgrades, it primes an attack of her own for one of the E-1000s. ]
[Incredibly rude that he is immediately chaos controlled! And since he's frozen, he has no choice but to just take the laser grid hit. Great start, here!]
[Avrae is a cruel mistress and let me roll a (19) right off the bat so Oscar is mostly dodging that laser grid!
... and immediately activating his shard power with Basilio so that other tank is only going to be taking half of that damage because L O L. The next order of things is going for that Shadow Android because they look like worse bad news than those E-1000s right now...]
[Oh thank god it's lasers and not rocks, because we can at least tuck and roll past these! (16)]
Void Archive! [It's a shout across the space, a flicker of energy in white and green in an attempt to activate their bond power.] Give them a little better show of firepower, would you!
[He's already whipping out his disc launcher to fire at Stone, if only to see if this fucker has protection.]
[Dorothy manages to dodge the laser with relative ease (12); seems someone didn't forget just how the robots back in the first week attacked, and she's doing everything she can to keep everyone safe.
It's why Dorothy aims three shots of water bullets at the Shadow Androids, aiming to send them off balance!]
[Viktor had brought help, so to speak--a small robot made of spare parts of defeated robots and covered in Jinx's trademark blue and white scribbled designs. Another prototype untested, but no time better than the present.]
You can not be serious--at least I did everything myself, you are terrible at this.
[That was, at least, said mostly to himself as Viktor quickly moved out of the range of the laser grid (19) and aimed a shot at one of the Shadow Androids.]
Hmph, do you really think I'd let you gain the upper hand so easily?
[ Void Archives manages to miss the first hit (16), gets hit by the second laser, which makes their eyes narrow (6), and they perform some sort of mobile acrobatic maneuver to evade the laser grid (17)
Then, for their part they will be aiming to shoot one of the Shadow Androids who haven't been attacked.
