Eggman's robot stands unmoving just outside of the city limits. It has caused a lot of destruction in its wake, and the area where it has come to rest has been warped by Eggman's trademark chroma. Worse still, the various robots composing Eggman's army are concentrated here, meaning that trying to find a way in is going to be exceptionally difficult.
Your colorful allies tell you as much, but Sonic doesn't seem worried in the slightest.
"The three of us will keep 'em distracted. Egghead wants a piece of me, so the three of us will fight the robots."
"We'll send you guys in with a ring to hopefully catch him off-guard. If what we've theorized is correct, you should be able to literally knock the Master Emerald out of him, and once you have that, he shouldn't be much of a threat."
"Best of luck, warriors."
The plan is straightforward and simple enough, and your friends take off once everyone's ready to go. They've left you with two rings - one to get in, and one to get out. When you're all prepared, step inside.
Welcome to Eggman's control room. Bathed in black and green light, the inside of the robot's head is composed of three sections: a smooth circular outer wall that is sloped and would be difficult (but not impossible) to stand on, a circular platform in the center (far larger than the picture for the purposes of this fight), and an alcove built into the wall that houses a man and several high-tech devices. The man does not look up from the screens he's watching as you enter.
Eggman, on the other hand, is already aware of your presence.
"Here come the would-be heroes. Did you really think marching in here was a bright idea? In case you've forgotten, I hold all the power here."
Green lightning-like energy sparks around him and to him as he speaks, and Eggman kicks off the platform to move to float in the air - high enough up that it would be a pain to try to reach him without hoverboards. Of course, you do still have those...
"You all aren't who I'm after. Stone, take care of them."
He flicks a finger in the direction of the other human present in the control room who jolts a bit in response before furiously tapping away at the keyboard on the control panel in front of him. Eggman simply turns his attention away from you all, to focus back on Sonic and friends who are currently in the process of wrecking his robots. Occasionally he does something and the entire robot shifts - moving to punch or aim attacks at Sonic and friends with said robot which will cause the whole of the robot to move - mind your footing!
[ Ashley dives to avoid the explosion (19) and grits her teeth. ]
Ughh! Okay, this is getting ridiculous...! [ Her gaze darts about to find Ed and Yugi/Atem. ] Are you guys with me?
[ Time to activate their shared power and see if she can't draw some aggro. With the barrier around Shadow Android B(lue) down, she also fires off her shard's offensive blast at it.
To her surprise, it feels like she can still search her mind for a vision, too, so. Hell, might as well! ]
[Between the heal last round, and being yanked out of danger this one, Fukuda actually comes to, though he's still relatively bleary. Not enough to not say something stupid though;]
Haha, talk about personal magnetism, Mr Vakama....
also let's ignore how wolfwood got exploded on last round BUT THIS ROUND HE'S FINE. he manages to dodge the explosion ( 13 ) and hasn't been really taking much damage overall. so that's what is important here. at least they both get an advantage with their rolls for next round as well after activating their bond ability. ]
[It's a good thing he's got foresight for one time! This is a good time for that because that explosion probably would hurt like hell.
Alright, let's see how to try to take down the Shadow Android C...Ed decides to keep his distance because getting too close is probably going to bring himself more harm than do any good.
Managing to heft a somewhat heavy piece of platform, having gotten it from one of the walls he had raised earlier, he aims and throws at the android...
...and since the roll was a 9, he probably hit it, but at best it just caused a scuff. Too bad]
Just me or did things end up bein' a little different this time around compared to the other times.
[ because wolfwood would absolute point out how their bond ability evolved. is he happy about this or displeased with this? the answer should be obvious.
though also look. lucifer covered him from the round where he would have taken the most damage so the only round that he has taken any kind of damage is the past one. wolfwood's never punished for not healing himself with real consequences. ]
[ More is looking up at Turo, but his eyes are a little unfocused. It's hard to really think of anything but the searing pain he's feeling, and what little energy is left after that is getting immediately fueled into a sense of failure.
How could he have let this happen? How could he have been so careless, again?
The terastallization spreads over him and halts his bleeding even when the shard that got him vanishes. Then Void Archive's heal hits and More feels like... well, he feels like dying, but he doesn't feel like he is dying anymore.
[ Normally Void Archives would have pointed out, but the shock of seeing a close friend nearly die in front of one's eyes kind of damaged the bit of normally functioning logic. So when Wolfwood points it out, they blink. ]
...It did.
Perhaps because we've gotten to know each other better?
[ Void Archives asks with an innocent tilt of their head, knowing it'd potentially make Wolfwood agitated.
They may be annoyed about being laughed at while on the ground still. Anyway Wolfwood may never be punished for not healing for real consequences but is it true if it's VA lecturing him for it every time? ]
[Chaos Control means Oscar gets nailed by those lasers and that explosion, though it's immediately followed up by a heal from Wolfwood and VA that doesn't even register.
He's just staring at Basilio taking that hit that was meant for him, just like when...
(Why? Why is this happening again? Why can't he ever protect anyone when it matters?
... he really is completely worthless, isn't he?)
The worst part of this all is that he can't even move to try to do anything. All he can do is watch, unmoving, as panic and hopelessness well up within him.]
