Eggman's robot stands unmoving just outside of the city limits. It has caused a lot of destruction in its wake, and the area where it has come to rest has been warped by Eggman's trademark chroma. Worse still, the various robots composing Eggman's army are concentrated here, meaning that trying to find a way in is going to be exceptionally difficult.
Your colorful allies tell you as much, but Sonic doesn't seem worried in the slightest.
"The three of us will keep 'em distracted. Egghead wants a piece of me, so the three of us will fight the robots."
"We'll send you guys in with a ring to hopefully catch him off-guard. If what we've theorized is correct, you should be able to literally knock the Master Emerald out of him, and once you have that, he shouldn't be much of a threat."
"Best of luck, warriors."
The plan is straightforward and simple enough, and your friends take off once everyone's ready to go. They've left you with two rings - one to get in, and one to get out. When you're all prepared, step inside.
Welcome to Eggman's control room. Bathed in black and green light, the inside of the robot's head is composed of three sections: a smooth circular outer wall that is sloped and would be difficult (but not impossible) to stand on, a circular platform in the center (far larger than the picture for the purposes of this fight), and an alcove built into the wall that houses a man and several high-tech devices. The man does not look up from the screens he's watching as you enter.
Eggman, on the other hand, is already aware of your presence.
"Here come the would-be heroes. Did you really think marching in here was a bright idea? In case you've forgotten, I hold all the power here."
Green lightning-like energy sparks around him and to him as he speaks, and Eggman kicks off the platform to move to float in the air - high enough up that it would be a pain to try to reach him without hoverboards. Of course, you do still have those...
"You all aren't who I'm after. Stone, take care of them."
He flicks a finger in the direction of the other human present in the control room who jolts a bit in response before furiously tapping away at the keyboard on the control panel in front of him. Eggman simply turns his attention away from you all, to focus back on Sonic and friends who are currently in the process of wrecking his robots. Occasionally he does something and the entire robot shifts - moving to punch or aim attacks at Sonic and friends with said robot which will cause the whole of the robot to move - mind your footing!
[Okay! Looks like there's no way to disable the grid permanently since the indents are, presumably, separated from the platform. Oh well, at leasat he managed to make it easier for everyone else already.
Perhaps a breather to bide for time and seek further opportunities will be his move this time. Let's see next round how it goes, yup]
[Percy steps in to guard Ashley (enjoy your Chaos Spear damage, though it is mitigated thanks to the shield!) and More blocks Turo with their bond, allowing both of them to escape unscathed. Unfortunately, the Shadow Androids are not happy about this, and decide instead to unleash Chaos Spears of their own on Viktor, Fukuda, and Vakama. These attacks are immediate and cannot be dodged thanks to their shard powers - enjoy eating that damage!
Shadow Android C (yellow-orange) takes hits from both Oscar and Raven, further cracking the shield down - only for Vakama to completely destroy it. While using shardbond powers, you count as both your own shard color and your partner's! Convenient for breaking shields! Shadow Android C is now stunned and an easy target.
Speaking of easy targets, E-1000 A is suffering serious damage from the hole in its armor and all of your attacks, and E-1000 B is probably not going to be doing much better in the future given it likewise has a hole now! But all three are still standing for the time being, and they are back to their usual task of shooting lasers. Oscar, Turo, More, Dorothy (x2), and Wolfwood are going to be hit this round!
The laser grid will not go off this round, instead it seems that Stone's finished whatever it was he's been working so hard on this entire time... which is sending out some kind of shockwave from the center of the platform. Everyone roll for whether you retain your footing (11+ means you are still standing) - if you roll a 10 or lower, you will lose your action this round due to needing to get back up. Sapphires will need to roll with disadvantage, due to this being a blue shockwave! (Incidentally, this means that Shadow Android B(lue) will be down for next round.)
Your enemies are: E-1000 x3, Shadow Android x3, and Stone.]
[And Yugi was doing so well dodging everything that came his way up until the shockwave (9). He's knocked out of his shadow form and onto the ground on his ass. Ow.]
[If nothing else, Dorothy manages to maintain her footing! (16) And while she gets hit with one of the lasers (4), she cleverly dodges behind another wall of cover to evade the other one.]
Utter nuisances--
[Dorothy elects to stop the spread attacks this time around, focusing and aiming a shot at E-1000 A since she sees it's flagging pretty hard. The sooner they can get pieces off of the board, the better.]
[ A round off seems to have rejuvenated Ashley, particularly since she's determined not to have Percy take a hit for her again! She stays balanced easily (20), and then channels a vision, aiming the corresponding attack at Shadow Android B(lue), since it looks to have been hit as well. ]
[ An 11 means that she just barely manages to avoid being knocked over by the shockwave! I like to think she does a sick skidding-backwards move and then stands back up because she's embarrassed.
Anyway, it's time to keep firing at E-1000 B, to try to reduce the number of lasers going off in this room. ]
[Well he sure was going to celebrate that android getting stunned, until he got a spear chucked at his face. That knocks him backwards with the sound of seizing machinery, and the shockwave keeps him down (8).
At least Raven's buff has two more turns! Go buddy. :')]
Whoa! Didja see that, Vakama? Yer attack worked too!

The shockwave goes out, and though it makes Raven briefly flicker out of his invisibility, he manages to stay on his feet (19). With others getting bowled over, he knows he needs to take advantage of this and attack. Still, he gives the field a once-over to make sure his allies are okay...
While Shadow android C is stunned and shieldless, he rushes in to fire another shot into its chest.]
[The 14 means Ed is still standing! And because he's still standing, an idea comes]
Ed thinks he's got it!
[Maybe! It might work, perhaps? He has no idea how this platform's shockwaves work, but perhaps it's worth a try anyway. Getting to the center of the platform, he traces a wide circle around its center, trying to make this area of the platform and whatever's in there that makes shockwaves happen go upwards, forming a pillar to try to get it to a height in which it won't be dangerous anymore!
Well, or at least that was the plan. Frankly, it's unlikely there's enough matter in this platform's center for that. At best, this will extrude...what, five feet, supposing there's something right here at the center like a support column underneat the platform and stuff? Can't overdo this because otherwise it'd risk the platform's stability and it'd be disastrous if this whole place just fell apart.
So yeah, this probably just...makes the center -- and hopefully what makes shockwaves happen -- be extruded upwards so it's not right at floor level, hoping to reduce the effectiveness of the shockwaves]
[Turo flinches, moving as if to try and shield More even as More is the one who's actually shielding him. But a part of him - the part most programmed to serve the Professor's needs - is still analyzing the battlefield. He was made for Pokemon battles, yes, but battles all the same. He sees both Shadow Androids go down, and is quick enough to draw the correlation:]
We're - we're super-effective against our own type! Target your own color!
[Holding onto More, he's able to remain upright (13), and he uses their bond power himself to summon a new crystal. Ruby lights flash in a quick binary pattern deep within its facets: Power Gem. It shoots off to target Shadow Android A (the red one).]
[Vakama is too busy getting a spear upside his mask but imagine him just giving that thumbs up gif that nao always puts in chat. HE SAW, WE LEARN THINGS!]
[ congrats to gyles for not beefing it this round (11). proud of you gramps.
Taking advantage of the newly created hole, one of Gyles's duplicates gets up close and personal to E-1000 B and promptly explodes once another duplicate aims directly for it. ]
[Oscar manages to dodge the laser for the most part (13), but that shockwave knocks him off his feet and leaves him reeling and unable to attack for this round, RIP...]
[He would love to respond to this but he is frozen! Which fortunately or unfortunately has also locked his grip on More so you are definitely staying here for the moment!]
[ Combined, Turo and More have the stability of two people and thus it's easy for More to remain standing (18) - this does sadly not render him impervious to lasers, as another grazes his leg (6). He flinches in pain, finger's tightening their hold on Turo's clothes.
But he feels exhilarated. Having been able to protect somebody important to him for once in his damn life gave him a much-needed boost of energy.
More is going to keep reprogram two of his shards to "guard us" (because he's pretty sure Turo wouldn't appreciate him letting himself be hit by even more lasers) and then uses his final shard to fire it at E-1000 A. Perish!! ]
