Eggman's robot stands unmoving just outside of the city limits. It has caused a lot of destruction in its wake, and the area where it has come to rest has been warped by Eggman's trademark chroma. Worse still, the various robots composing Eggman's army are concentrated here, meaning that trying to find a way in is going to be exceptionally difficult.
Your colorful allies tell you as much, but Sonic doesn't seem worried in the slightest.
"The three of us will keep 'em distracted. Egghead wants a piece of me, so the three of us will fight the robots."
"We'll send you guys in with a ring to hopefully catch him off-guard. If what we've theorized is correct, you should be able to literally knock the Master Emerald out of him, and once you have that, he shouldn't be much of a threat."
"Best of luck, warriors."
The plan is straightforward and simple enough, and your friends take off once everyone's ready to go. They've left you with two rings - one to get in, and one to get out. When you're all prepared, step inside.
Welcome to Eggman's control room. Bathed in black and green light, the inside of the robot's head is composed of three sections: a smooth circular outer wall that is sloped and would be difficult (but not impossible) to stand on, a circular platform in the center (far larger than the picture for the purposes of this fight), and an alcove built into the wall that houses a man and several high-tech devices. The man does not look up from the screens he's watching as you enter.
Eggman, on the other hand, is already aware of your presence.
"Here come the would-be heroes. Did you really think marching in here was a bright idea? In case you've forgotten, I hold all the power here."
Green lightning-like energy sparks around him and to him as he speaks, and Eggman kicks off the platform to move to float in the air - high enough up that it would be a pain to try to reach him without hoverboards. Of course, you do still have those...
"You all aren't who I'm after. Stone, take care of them."
He flicks a finger in the direction of the other human present in the control room who jolts a bit in response before furiously tapping away at the keyboard on the control panel in front of him. Eggman simply turns his attention away from you all, to focus back on Sonic and friends who are currently in the process of wrecking his robots. Occasionally he does something and the entire robot shifts - moving to punch or aim attacks at Sonic and friends with said robot which will cause the whole of the robot to move - mind your footing!
[Similarly to the last time an old man messed with his mind, Fukuda now has a strong irrepressible urge to drill holes in people's heads.
And who better to target, than the guy who took his drill away last time? Fukuda walks up to Gyles relatively calmly, but as soon as he's within striking distance he's raising his drill hand, turning it on and trying to perforate Gyles. Lets say some small part of him fought back enough that his target ends up being more trying to drill into his shoulder]
[To recap: Viktor already has a little too much personal investment in this situation. Now he's seen the other side of the Glorious Evolution a little too closely, and his leg hurts so badly it's going to take another round for him to put more than minimal weight on it.]
[However, he had a hoverboard designed for just such an occasion, snapping the staff into it once he picked it back up and rocketing through the lasers with focused precision (20)]
[Taking aim at Robotnik, he focused all that concentration and anger into a burst of raw energy, blasting a laser directly at him.]
[Torn between his attention to Void Archives and his sudden realization that More, still standing close to him, is not exactly narrating in their favor, the blast of lasers catches Turo entirely unaware, almost square in the chest. He's knocked back hard, smoking and twitching.]
[ A lot is happening, but so is this as well. They don't bother to keep from running over.
Especially after he had been the one to first to jump in and stop him. Anything trying to hit the blond? They dodge without thinking (18) ]
Turo-
[ They mean to reach out to help him, to his shoulder - perhaps to try to help him out, but... what if instead it triggers a bond instead. To the point where Turo first may find himself surrounded by a rainbow shield. ]
[IT'S GOOD THAT SHE HAS SUCH FAST REFLEXES because even after she's tossed, the speed in which he advances on her while she is prone is frighteningly paced, especially for someone who normally fights at a range. He already has his hand extended again to grab her a second time--]
[It's amazing that a guy Oscar's size can slip up behind someone so quietly, really. Enjoy your surprise thonk to the back of your head, More-- he'll apologize for it later.]
[Well and then she slaps him good and hard, and it's enough force to jostle his mask loose against his face.
He grabs for her wrist, but the suddenness of the energy drain is immediate in how his legs buckle, eyes struggling to flicker back and focus as he shudders to a halt against the ground.]
[ The illusion of calm, combined with the chaos that comes with their allies turning against them, gives Fukuda the opening he needs to strike (9).
Gyles has been struck by arrows before, but the sensation of a drill tearing through flesh and muscle is an experience he's not looking to repeat any time soon. ]
Ghrk-! [ Like before, he's going to try and get that drill away from Fukuda as soon as he can. Which means brandishing his claws and scratching at his hand, in an attempt to make his grip falter. ]
[Turo's head is twitching still, but he lets out a breath of relief to see Void Archives freed from that man's control. His shard responds in turn to theirs, light filtering through a thousand tiny Tera crystals in the air. He instinctively moves to shield Void Archives in turn, a beam of rainbow light bending and refracting towards Eggman as well.]
[I'm not going to roll to avoid because like. It's right there.
And of course not only does that disarm Fukuda right as he recoils away (this is just so the drill doesn't stay stuck in Gyles), but his eyes snap out of that unnerving deadness. He looks surprised, and then concerned.]
