Eggman's robot stands unmoving just outside of the city limits. It has caused a lot of destruction in its wake, and the area where it has come to rest has been warped by Eggman's trademark chroma. Worse still, the various robots composing Eggman's army are concentrated here, meaning that trying to find a way in is going to be exceptionally difficult.
Your colorful allies tell you as much, but Sonic doesn't seem worried in the slightest.
"The three of us will keep 'em distracted. Egghead wants a piece of me, so the three of us will fight the robots."
"We'll send you guys in with a ring to hopefully catch him off-guard. If what we've theorized is correct, you should be able to literally knock the Master Emerald out of him, and once you have that, he shouldn't be much of a threat."
"Best of luck, warriors."
The plan is straightforward and simple enough, and your friends take off once everyone's ready to go. They've left you with two rings - one to get in, and one to get out. When you're all prepared, step inside.
Welcome to Eggman's control room. Bathed in black and green light, the inside of the robot's head is composed of three sections: a smooth circular outer wall that is sloped and would be difficult (but not impossible) to stand on, a circular platform in the center (far larger than the picture for the purposes of this fight), and an alcove built into the wall that houses a man and several high-tech devices. The man does not look up from the screens he's watching as you enter.
Eggman, on the other hand, is already aware of your presence.
"Here come the would-be heroes. Did you really think marching in here was a bright idea? In case you've forgotten, I hold all the power here."
Green lightning-like energy sparks around him and to him as he speaks, and Eggman kicks off the platform to move to float in the air - high enough up that it would be a pain to try to reach him without hoverboards. Of course, you do still have those...
"You all aren't who I'm after. Stone, take care of them."
He flicks a finger in the direction of the other human present in the control room who jolts a bit in response before furiously tapping away at the keyboard on the control panel in front of him. Eggman simply turns his attention away from you all, to focus back on Sonic and friends who are currently in the process of wrecking his robots. Occasionally he does something and the entire robot shifts - moving to punch or aim attacks at Sonic and friends with said robot which will cause the whole of the robot to move - mind your footing!
[That's fruitless, though. Machines cannot disobey their programming through sheer force of will; there is no separation between the two. He knows that better than anyone.]
You have all this power and you still need to make us fight your battles for you? I thought you were better than that, Doctor.
[He sounds genuinely disappointed. And looks around for a Nearby Friend because clearly that's the only way to damage this guy. Ah! There. He grabs Raven's hand.]
Hey, lets hit him where it hurts, yeah?
[Fukuda activates their shard power which doesn't visibly do anything... But it's an invisible blade aimed to do maximum damage to Dr Robotnik's insides.]
[Thankfully Eggman's laser is a gracious enough dodge (19), but when he rights himself to instead watch Viktor seize up...
He freezes for only a moment, eyes widening, before he immediately darts forward. Watching a transformation that he knew, he knew so deeply, that Viktor viscerally did not want to repeat. They could not let this happen again, they couldn't, he promised--
It's what puts him in such close range when Viktor's own laser goes off, and why Vakama can't even attempt to dodge it (2). The Toa stumbles back against one knee with a hand clenched to his abdomen, but his head head whips back up with eyes that flash fierce.]
No. Not this time.
Together, remember??? You had better still hear me somewhere in there, Viktor!
[Telekinesis reaches out to attempt to snap Viktor's cane away enough to swipe his feet out from under him.]
[ LOOKS INTO THE MIRROR ABOUT THEIR NIGHTMARE FROM WK 3.

[Raven's also catching on to what seems to actually hurt Eggman, so when he sees Fukuda come over to take his hand, he's ready to go.]

[He doesn't even finish what he's saying because the bond power activates and so does a sharp pain in his chest as his blastia glows bright enough to show through his clothes. That's the core of their shared power, after all.
Well, it's not like he isn't used to this. But how does Eggman like it?]
[ They can't do anything about getting hit in the face so they don't bother to try turning their head away. They seem somehow as amused about the action as they would normally...
Except, something in their gaze is just not right. ]
Who else but he would I follow? Do you really think you can have me abandon my purpose with such meaningless words?
[Alright, ONCE THE ASHLEY SITUATION IS TAKEN CARE OF--
Dorothy will be combining her powers with Lucifer's to summon four shields that will attempt to clamp in on Eggman, attempting to soak and bind him in place!]
[ SMACK, and Ashley stumbles backwards, practically to the floor, from the strength of the slap. ]
O- ow! Wha- what? What did I j-just-? [ Holding her cheek, her eyes dart to Dorothy. They're anything but empty now, filled with a healthy dose of panic. ] I-I- I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry—
[Eggman looks up at the sudden localized storm with an expression that very clearly says "really" but between this and the joint attack from Raven and Fukuda, he actually doesn't have a comeback, for once. In fact, you might have heard some strange sound from him; it isn't a gasp or a choke, but something far more mechanical as he grips his chest before shaking off whatever it was Fukuda and Raven did. Dorothy and Lucifer's attack hits next, soaking him and clamping him in place.]
Really.
[Okay, well now he says it. His mustache is soaked??? Horrible. He's absolutely taking damage from these shardbond powers, but it doesn't seem to be slowing him down any. He just inclines his head and says:]
That was so nice, let's do it twice!
[Though he doesn't try to break free, he can apparently still do this much: diamonds are now under his control. If any emeralds were not attacked by their allies last round, they remain under Eggman's control. While Eggman's pinned like this, he can be hit by any attacks!
And of course, here's another laser grid from Stone, targeting everyone. It doesn't hurt the diamonds, as expected.]
