So, as he continues to frame this in terms of how many days he has to live with Vash, Void Archives' expression just looks pained. They don't make a lot of close bonds - it is just the nature of who or what they are.
They will live for an eternity, so that eventually most of the humans here will pass away before Void Archives will realize it themselves.
