[ 'My dear Welt', is something they are fine with saying no matter who they around, so when Wolfwood tries to get in a jab, they just look unrepentantly amused. People that are close to them get titles or terms of endearment. ] Unfortunately, you are also correct that he's simply as self-sacrificial as you imagine. He's "died" more than a handful of times - or better yet has been in states where he should have been truly "dead" than not, already.
Some might even say it's simply a matter of time.

I am afraid, though, just as this "Spikey" is in devotion to the martyr complex, the one I know well is just the same for the most part. Though, I do believe he has his limits - if the life, for example, is threatening the existence of others, he knows very well to extinguish it. No matter who or what it is; no matter their background...if they are so evil, if they harm others with cruelty in their hearts, he will act accordingly. I wonder if yours would have such limits?
