Oh no, ya caught me red-handed. [ wolfwood will place the back of his good hand against his head in full dramatics as he pretends to be beside himself and swoon. you know, very victorian era behavior. …not that wolfwood knows what that means. it’s fine. he’s doing this for the dramatics anyway. ] I’m much too much of a blushin’ maiden in my current state that I’ve forgotten all my manners. Whatever shall I do?
[ don't worry, wolfwood won’t draw out his dramatics for too long and will lower his arm after holding the pose for an appropriate amount of time. it was just to drive home the point of how unserious that response was from him; they were free to tease him but there's no way that wolfwood would stand by and just let it happen after everything. especially not when they did have some point of wolfwood being embarrassed. how could he not be, though? everything between him and vash was personal.
fortunately, there’s another (excuse) reason that he can easily rely on to justify the reasoning behind why he limits the amount of praise that he would give to void archives. …or anyone really. kind of. well, the next statement was specifically aimed for them. the ones later? not so much. ]
It doesn’t have to do with how a little bit of praise goes to yer head at all. [ wolfwood says plainly with a slight trace of humor in his tone. ] As a man of the cloth, it’s important to remind those that they should be humble and practice modesty when asking for more. We should always be thankful for what the Lord has given us.
[ words that wolfwood speaks to easily even if he does not practice them himself. there have been plenty of times, especially in recent memory, of wolfwood begging for something that he likely had no right to. then again, a man like him had no business being a priest to begin with. but to give void archives a bit of honesty before he went his way (or will try to go his own way), wolfwood will leave them with some parting words. ]
We’ll see how all of this plays out and I’ll reconsider thankin’ ya then.
[ is he referring to what they’re doing here or whatever will happen back home? who knows. wolfwood won’t say until it happens. ]
