guffawsungraciously: grimacing angrily in monster form (STOP IT! Get away from me!)

[ah... a good night's sleep for the first time in the week! And perhaps the last, considering what this week has in store... He's actually pretty bright eyed and bushy tailed to begin with, getting himself a nice breakfast with some lemon tea before he heads out on the town.

It'd be nice if it kept being a Nice Day. Unfortunately, presumably purple text man has other ideas and so it's fucking miserable, and he's got enough people he has deeply complicated feelings about that he's going to keep getting visions of different people in his life. He's oh so exploitable.

The first one may be familiar to one or two of you. It's him, the Devil from da Bible. Wait no I can't make that joke in a Sonic game. It isn't Black Doom, it's Mordegon. I mean, they are kind of similar... but regardless, Jasper just kind of... encounters him at a bus stop on his way to go further into the city and scowls.]

...you could not leave well enough alone and be content to remain in my dreams, could you, Master?

[...maybe at one time he would've been reverent. but now he's just kind of pissed off.

The second apparition is more of a regal sort, who watches judgmentally as Jasper is thanked by a civilian he saved from a pair of Crabmeats because it'd be inconvenient if someone found out he left someone to die. He doesn't. Really care or anything. Or feel a flutter of pride to be thanked so profusely.]

...really, you should just... go back inside to... whatever it is you do. It was nothing.

["Perhaps if you had been so attentive at Dundrasil you would have proven that I had not been mistaken in taking you in, Jasper," says the king, a nasty edge to his voice, and Jasper's false modesty crumbles immediately.

The third apparition is... honestly kind of weird, actually? A black-clad knight is just... around Jasper, generally, but instead of hurling insults, he doesn't seem to be acknowledging Jasper's existence. Jasper seems to be ignoring him as well, but he sees him everywhere-- while he's fighting, while he's trying to get a frappuchino, while he's... in... the shower...

...finally, over a breakfast in the main room, he can't take it anymore. Jasper glares at him, slamming his fist down on the table and standing up to point at the man angrily.]

What do you want? If you have something to say, then say it, Hendrik!

[...Hendrik doesn't respond. He just... turns to leave.

...meanwhile, in dreamland, Jasper's memories are actually kind of a clusterfuck honestly. Instead of getting anything he remembers clearly, things are a little weird? They're very weird, actually. It feels as though they are being seen through a frosted-over window, and instead of anything complete, they're just snippets of different things that don't quite match up with the Jasper you know. First, he's in a ruined throne room looking... different, applauding the arrival of Hendrik and a young man with very nice hair--then, suddenly and abruptly, like film spliced together haphazardly, he's… eating cake? In some kind of evil hell fortress??? Well, very abruptly after that, he’s transforming into a monstrous form, then he's on his knees in that same form as Hendrik walks past him. He speaks, but it's muffled and hard to make out. There isn't... static, because lmao he has no reference for that. It sounds like you're being dunked in and out of water between things that are being said.]

...always wanted? I... be... like... you...

[...and then, there is one more. Jasper is human-ish again, clearly defeated and struggling to breathe as Hendrik kneels down to speak to him. His words are perhaps a bit more clear than the previous memory, but it's still a little foggy...

"...the one who spurred me on. The light that guided me. ... How is it that you never knew?"]
